It is advisable for every musician to clean their instruments after every playing in order to ensure that the instrument always performs at its best!

(The boot joint is the very bottom part of the instrument)

Good but a little too wide - sometimes gets stuck around the bassoon

Product OK, but draw cord attachment weak

The swab is fine and works well, however the drawcord broke at the attachment to the swab in fewer than 10 uses. I have repaired it and all continues well, but it should not have happened.

It does the job but is a little thick. I will probably trim the material down a bit.

Exactly what's needed

An excellent publication with clear diagrams and instructions on reed care and correction. Worth every penny.

After a brief initial soak both reeds have sounded good but one was playing a bit flat to start. This now seems to be improving, but of course much of the fault could be with the player!

Disappointed with Product Quality and Customer Service

Upon arrival, the reeds were far too free-blowing, and one had a defective staple where the cork extended past the end of the staple. This raises concerns about whether any quality checks were carried out before shipping.
I contacted Crook and Staple through their online chat function but received no response. I then followed up via email, yet there has still been no reply. Given this experience, I would not recommend this company and will not be using them again.
